Five - Tier Wedding Cake: Bows and Brooch

After a long spell, I made a wedding cake amidst busy work schedule, and whilst baking the cake and decorating it...I was wondering whether I had forgotten how to make cakes. It was a request that I could not refuse. The bride had given her design and wanted it in white and silver hues only.

Now the year is almost coming to an end and I would like take this moment to thank all of you who have supported me, guided me and encouraged me to do better. Having made close to 250 wedding cakes, I have learned a lot on maturing the fruit cake, experimenting with alochol, brushes, making home made tools, planing and shaping the cakes, how to salvage the occasion by being patient and why to respect sugar that it deserves ! With every cake that i make, there is always new things to learn..this lifelong discovery of perfection amazes me and I humbly bow to God and his perfect ways of creation.

With work engagements, consultancy and studies, I have slowed down on making cakes as I often used to do in the past. Nevertheless, I still love sugarcraft and will post my works as and when I manage to do so.

Dream Wedding Cake - 9 Touches

The wedding cake was made for a bride from Maun, who wanted 9 fruit cakes as per her design suggested, with roses and silver lace and royal icing decorations. It was a new learning experience in terms of decor and I loved this work.

Cindrella Cake

I loved making this birthday cake for a sweet little girl from Selebi-Phikwe. It was first time that I tried to make such cake and I learned a lot of new techniques. The cake had to travel 400 kms before being part o the celebration and I held my breath till its arrival there for intactness ! Will experiment more on new designs as requested.

50 Years Celebration Cake

This cake was made for a lady from Angola who resides in Gaborone and wanted to celebrate her glorious 50 years of joyous life.  The topsy turvy cake with touch of gold was a nice combination as wanted by her and it made me feel happy to have made her day.
