Wedding Anniversary Cake: February 2008

This cake was made for one of our friend's from Indian Army, currently posted in Francistown, who celebrated their 13th marriage anniversary on 22 February 2008. Despite very busy schedule at office, i had promised myself that, like last year, i will make the cake for them, this year too ! A promise is a promise, it has trust and faith and moment of truth, whether to others or oneself. Well, i had a night and so spent late hours to complete the cake. My heart leaped with joy, when out of affection they said that this cake was perfect for the occassion and to cherish the memories, the moment was captured in the camera - our friends, the cake and me ! I could feel the pure joy, like the reverbrations of pure innocent creativity.
The cake was vanilla sponge cake with three layers of strawberry and cream fillings. I used natural flowers this time to decorate the cake with royal icing decorations and frilled border.

Hi Anamika
Winter has not yet passed away in India and while studying, i just thought of browsing the net and lo, found another of your creations, and that too, again for a friend ! Anamika, you amazed me again, of what you do for your friends. No wonder, your friends are so touched by your gesture. You really know what friendship means ! Will not be rhetoric, the cake again is beautiful and an expression of love. The frill looks gorgeous.

Anamika,
So sweet of you.
What an awesome cake!
The colourful roses and the white lacy deco of the cake makes it so divine.

Hi Priya
If winter cames, can spring be far behind ! The spring will be dawn of all things nice. Hey, i am always fascinated and intrigued by your questions. I dont know why but you always have interesting and touch the emotional string. For me, the friends are food for the soul. So, i always try to treasure and presrve it, for it nourishes and are Guide and Philospeher for life. Friends, they say, come in your life for a reason, season or lifetime. I always believe, they come for a lifetime, not just last for a season and can never betray them for season or reason or even think of lying or hiding ! Friendship has a deep meaning and I try..to undertsand it.
Thanks for your appreciation of my effort. When my friend commented that the cake was perfect, i felt very happy emotionally, but as a learner of sugarcraft,i know my pursuit of perfection will only end when the cake is perfect in everyway with the best i can (skills, knowledge etc )and is even 1% closer to nature. I will know within of the imperfections.
I love my blogger friends for inspirations they give, even with tough questions from yourself and i always love and want to respond Individually !
Thanks for passing by again and i wish you had a blog site.

Hi Aparna
Thats a very wonderful comment but difficult one to reply back. With all fairness, food are made to look good, too! However its inner beauty will only be revealed once a bite is taken, isnt it. What appears to be good outside may not be necessarily be good inside. Judge me on both, i would implore !
