Two-Tier Birthday Cake: Chocolate Ganache Marble Cake with Cigarellos - February 2008

This two-tier chocolate ganache marble cake was made for a very good doctor friend from Indian Air Force, who is in Francistown. This birthday, we all wished for a fairy in his life, as he is still a bachelor and we could not think of a better theme of combining his birth with a wish for a lovely girl in his life. He was happy with our warm gesture and we captured the moment in a camera of him blowing the candle and making a wish. The party was organised in a Indian Restaurant with the perfect ambience among severals friends.
The rich moist chocolate cake had the flavour of coffee mocha and cinnamon. It was just chocolate and chocolate and nothing else!
With love in the air and Valentine's Day around the corner, I made this cake with lots of hearts, chocolate flower embellishment and roses for our sweet friend to be struck by a Cupid's arrow !
And I found it worth for carrying a wish , to go as a submission for Pooja's theme for Valentine Day http://creativepooja.blogspot.com/2008/02/theme-of-week-valentines-day2008-round.html

Hi priya
thanks for writing and your posts evokes so much emotions. I loved them and am quoting some of your wonderful thoughts:

"Meeting you was fate, becoming your friend was a choice, but falling in love with you was
beyond my control." - Unknown

If you love someone put their name in a circle, not a heart, because hearts can be broken but
circles go on forever! - Unknown

Hi asha
Thanks for your words. Well it did take some to melt the chocolate with cream and to pour it together with white chocolate to creat the marble effect. But, it is part of making the cake, which i love, isnt it ! especially when you do for a friend. I loved your story of three sisters and the pomegranate soup. Wonderful post, dear !

Beautiful cake! How could a fairy resist? Let us know how this story comes out! If he gets his girl I'll want to ask you to make me one too, and fly out to eat it! I do prefer my match not be a fairy though ;-)

Anamika you're truly talented! My baking sessions are usually confined to simple egg cakes without icing - but you've inspired me to try the animal farm cake for my 4 year old :). I'll need lots of luck though.

well, thats what we have wished for..a cupid's arrow to strike.. a very good friend and a very good gardener with green hands. Has transformed the garden. In fact,in his garden you can find anything from vegetables to flowers to fruits. So we tease him, a girl who just needs to marry him, no cooking required, too !

Hi Anamika, thanks for dropping by my blog. Your cakes are amazing - cake decorating is one thing that I am hopeless at, so I am very impressed by your skills.

Hi priya (new delhi)
Thanks for leaving your blogprints.
I must say, you must now have a blog site so that we can interact much. Yes, i love my friends. And feel so much happy in adding to their happiness. Friends are for life, much above the words that spell them. I love them for their honesty, their trust and faith. Between friends there is just one thing 'the plain truth'. It is much above short term gains, oppurtunism and lies. It is life long bond, where you guide each other, even if you assume tide against you but coninue to seek each other's hand and never desert each other. A friend always thinks well for you and so on and so on.
Priya, i will be glad to your friend, too. You think a lot, don't you ? I would like you to be my blogger friend, too !
