The flowers bloomed after 15 years on a bonsai plant (species still unknown to me) here in Botswana in November 2007. I manged to capture few shots digitally but what awes me is it's pure sheer pristine beauty ! My camera could not capture it's perfection enough ! The edges kept on blurring even with very high resolution..such is Nature's perfection.
It has become again my source of inspiration for sugarcraft !

I love your bonsai bloom. I would say the Bonsai is a "Sabi Star". I lived in Zimbabwe for 30 years and it looks like a Sabi Star to me. Anyway its beautiful. I also love your "African Wedding Cake" Everything about it is in African Tradition. Lovely work

Hi Anamika
I've spent all free time in the past two days just drooling over your cakes and taking in all the minutest of details. I wish you lived back here in India and were taking classes. I'd be the first to join. Your cakes are SO SO SO awesome. I wanted to see all of them and then post for the first one - but seeing your query about the flowers - i decided to reply here. I do hope you see this comment.
The plant is an Adenium obessum. It is not necessarily a bonsai. The bigger the pot you put it into - the larger it will grow. And if you keep it in a place with loads and loads of sunlight -it will bloom through the year. I don't know whay it has taken so long to bloom for you - cos mine have bloomed within a year of getting them. Heres a link for you to read more about them if you're interested.
